A Study on an early adaptation phase using SCL-90 in a youngmen group

Abstract
A study on an early adaptation phase Using SCL-90 in a youngmen group. In order to clarify an early adaptation phase in a youngmen groups in Kwangju city, 194 young male subjects were surveyed using SCL-90 as to their group life durations. The results were as follows;
1. Comparing all the scales with the three subgroups divided by one year duration, no significantly higher scores were obtained in every scales.
2. Comparing all the scales with the three shorter subgroups in the first year duration, significantly higher scores were obtained in somatization, obsession & compulsion (p<0.05, respectively), depression, anxiety and hostility (p<0. 01 respectively) scales between the first 3 months and three to six months subgroups, but there were no significant changes between the three to six and the six to twelve months subgroups.
3. Comparing our study group with the other group, significantly higher score was obta¡þined in somatization scale in out study group but no signifficantly different changes were obtained in other scales.
4. From the above results, it could be supposed that in our study group, early three months duration of the group life is very critical and the three to, six months duration is one of a rapid adaptation period, so that during the early phase we can help the youngmen master their adaptation problems by proper guide and support.
